Two Schools Standing Out for Talented Arlington (TX) WR Hal Presley

November 6, 2020

Although talented 2021 Arlington (TX) Wide Receiver Hal Presley‍ was committed to Baylor, USC offered him a scholarship in the Spring and consistently pursued him since. The Trojans already have commitments from Michael Jackson III, Quay Davis, Josh Moore and Michael Trigg, but Presely's name has been mentioned as a top USC prospect for several months.

"I don't remember exactly when they (USC) offered me, but they've stayed on me ever since," said Presley."They were one of the schools that kept coming after me and stayed consistent with their communication."

Keary Colbert has been the point man with the recruitment of Presley and been convincing enough selling his Alma Mater to the talented Mansfield Summit Wide out, to put USC at the top of Presely's list along with Auburn.

"He's a really cool guy," Presley said about Colbert."Every time I'm on the phone with him we're not even talking about recruiting or football. He just seems like a real good guy and someone I would like to have as a coach."

Presley said he also communicates with Clay Helton, Graham Harrell and Sean Snyder from USC and shared why he has interest in the Trojans beyond his solid relationship with the coaching staff.

"I've always had interest in USC with JuJu Smith-Schuster going there and and also Michael Pittman," said Presley. "They're telling me they'd use me in their offense a lot like Pittman and JuJu and that's something that I'm really interested in."

2020 will go down as one of the craziest recruiting cycles in history with all the CovId-19 restrictions in place and no college visits permitted until at least after January 1, 2021. So, many kids are taking a leap of faith and committing to schools they've never visited. If Presley were to choose USC or Auburn, chances are he'll do so without stepping foot on either campus.

But Presely said he is seriously considering taking self-guided tours of USC and Auburn if possible. Miller Moss would be a possible host at USC with him being the one Trojan commit Presley talks to.

You can bet Auburn would love to see Presley make his way into its campus too and there's a lot he already likes about the Tigers.

"I like Auburn a lot because me and the wide receivers coach are very similar," Presley said. "He's really confident and holds his players to a very high standard, like I do with myself. Also, Coach (Chad) Morris is from Texas and it makes it that much better knowing people from my area. Auburn is also telling me I'm the only guy they want. They remind me all the time that I'm the only guy they want."

As of now Presley has no plans to announce a decision, but will likely start getting serious about a school choice after his senior season ends next month. USC SCOOP hopes to see Presley play in the next two weeks.
