Gracen Halton‍ is one of the top edge rushers that California has to offer in the class of 2022. Ever since the Trojans offered Halton back in March this year, Vic So’oto and the Trojans have been in hot pursuit of him. So’oto is a significant reason Halton has a large interest in USC.

As of now, they speak about once a month and Halton says that he enjoys their talks.

“He cares and he’s here for me” says Halton,” he said."He also talks with Clay Helton, and he had the same thing to say."

In February Halton visited USC for Junior Day and left with a very favorable opinion.

“It’s nice and I liked it a lot. USC is a really nice campus and can’t wait to visit again” said the San Diego product about what he took away from his visit.

He was planning to visit USC this summer, along with Oregon and ASU. However, the visit of course got cancelled but he wants to be back soon whenever he’s able to.

Halton expressed the importance of a good academic experience and said he's interested in majoring in sports broadcasting or business. He also said he hopes to talk with the coaches about what USC can provide for him in regards to those academic courses.

Being from San Diego, Halton has connections with current Sophomore RB Kenan Christon. “We just talked about USC and the coaches he gave me a little feedback to go in there and work my tail off” says Halton. The coaches and Kenan are telling him similar things, which is coming together to really sell him on the Trojans.

The great academics that USC can provide can be “a big impact” Gracen. Business or working as a Sports Commentator are majors that are a possibility for him wherever he ends up. He is hoping to talk with some Trojan coaches soon on what the university can provide to him in terms of getting a degree in one of those two interests. The rich history the football program holds is also something that interests Halton.

Do not expect Halton to make a commitment anywhere any time soon, and he doesn’t feel that he is in any rush to make his decision. However, there is a chance that a cut down list of schools from the 15 offers that he currently has sometime soon.

When watching  Gracen Halton's 2019 Season Highlights from his sophomore season, his footwork, his first step off the ball, his hand placement as a pass rusher and run defender are stuff that sticks out to you.
