BREAKING: 4-Star WR Michael Jackson III Commits to USC!

June 2, 2020

After landing a huge quarterback commitment in Miller Moss on Monday, USC added another weapon for its offense on Wednseday morning in 4-Star WR Michael Jackson III‍.

Jackson III competed at USC’s Rising Stars Camp last summer and received an offer from the Trojans this past March. “They were in the lead for quite a while,” Jackson told Scott Schrader recently. “Really, it was just about being a balanced school in terms of education, NFL contigency, the receiver play and their offense.”

Part of the recent recruiting surge for USC has been the coaching staff’s ability to connect with recruits and make them feel comfortable. Jackson III alluded to this aspect being huge in his decision.

"I knew adjusting to California wouldn’t be hard at all and the coaches, they give you that West Coast feel that I’m already familiar to. We built that relationship for quite a while and after that I knew they were going to be high for me.”

Jackson also talked about the relationship he’s built with Wide Receiver Coach Keary Colbert.

“Colbert, he’s great. He’s new to the receiver coach position but you wouldn’t even notice. He’s very intelligent and he knows what to do with his receivers.”

Jackson says he ultimately chose USC over Texas and Oregon, with other schools like UCLA and Ole Miss in the mix. He becomes USC’s 2nd Wide Receiver commit in the 2021 class and says he has already built a relationship with Miller Moss and Jake Garcia, USC’s two quarterback commits.

There are thousands of extremely talented high school football players in the nation, Jackson is among those, but some are more focused, motivated, dedicated and find ways to separate themselves from the rest....Jackson is one of those impressive young men.
