After firing Clancy Pendergast, USC announced John Baxter will also not return to Troy next season.

Baxter, the special teams coordinator/tight ends coach, was in his second stint as a coach at USC. Baxter’s units routinely struggled on all phases of special teams throughout the season and in the past. According to Football Outsiders this season, USC’s special teams unit was ranked 90th in special teams rating, which represents the “per possession scoring advantage a team's combined special teams units would be expected to have on a neutral field against an average opponent”.

USCScoop.com will have the latest on the Trojans’ search to replace Baxter for next season.
