USC remains a top school for DB Julius Irvin

October 4, 2017

Julius Irvin isn't one of the most talked about prospects in southern California, but he's one of the top DBs on the West Coast and being pursued by several big-time schools.

He's already taken official visits to Washington and Notre Dame, and will be taking his official visit to Michigan this weekend. He'll be joined by fellow So-Cal prospects Bryan Addison and Amon-Ra St. Brown when the Wolveriens face Michigan State Saturday in Ann Arbor.

After he takes his Michigan official visit, Irvin said the remaining two visits will be to Utah and USC.

Irvin filled us in on how much he communicates with the Trojans.

"I talk to USC a lot and I'm still very much interested in them," Irvin said. "We've been talking a lot lately and I just want to do my out-of-state visits now, because I can go to USC any time. I'm going to take an official visit to USC, I just haven't coordinated that, yet. USC wants me to take my visit late, so I'll visit there after I finish up my other visits."

He also touched on why he's interested in USC and what his impression of the football team is this season.

"I really love the tradition and education at USC," said Irvin. "They're doing great this year and even though they slipped up against Washington State, they're a very good football team and I think they can come back from that and finish really strong. It's all about staying focused and bouncing back now from that loss now."

Eric Ziskin is someone Irivn said he communicates with often, but he speaks to DBs coach Ronnie Bradford weekly.

"I talk to him (Bradford) weekly and we usually talk on Thursday," he said. "I really like Coach Bradford a lot, he's a real high-energy guy, he's really easy to talk to, he's a very cool coach and I really like him a lot."

We'll cointinue to communicate regularly with Irvin throughout the process and we'll see him play later in the season when Servite plays Mater Dei on November 3.
