QB Jake Garcia Commits to USC

September 23, 2019

Four-Star 2021 QB Jake Garcia‍ (6-2, 190) is as Southern California as it gets and his interest in the University of Southern California has been strong since the Trojans offered last June. Sunday night the Narbonne HS standout announced his commitment to USC a day after 2020 QB Bryce Young‍ flipped his commitment from Trojans to Alabama.

Garcia also has serious interest from schools like Ohio St., Alabama, Miami, Georgia and many others. The thought was he was heaed to Miami before the Young announcment.

USCScoop caught up with Garcia recently to discuss his recruitment and talk about USC.

“I like USC a lot and I got to see what they look like offensively and what they’re going to be doing this season, and I really like what I’m seeing,” he said. “Besides UCLA, it’s a hometown feel. It’s in the backyard for sure and my family can make all the home games if they wanted to. That’s really cool, becuase I have such a supportive family and that would be really nice for them to make all the games.”

Every quarterback’s dream is to play under an Air-Raid style offense and Garcia is certainly no exception.

“I like the Air Raid portion of the offense,” said Garcia. “They’re throwing the ball around a lot and it’s almost something similar to the offense I’m running now at Narbonne.... they put up big time numbers!”

Garcia recently met Offensive Coordinator Graham Harrell and had nothing but positve things to say about his potential play caller.

“I had never met Coach Harrell before this summer and he’s a really cool guy,” Garcia said. “I can definitely see myself playing for him.”

USCScoop will catch up with Garcia as soon as possible.
